About TradingEdge Journal

We build trading journal software for people who take their own performance seriously — and we built it so that nobody, including us, ever sees your trades.

What We Make

TradingEdge Journal started as a tool we needed and couldn't buy. Every trading journal on the market wanted our trade history uploaded to somebody else's server, wrapped in a monthly subscription, in exchange for charts we could have built ourselves. We wanted the opposite: a fast native app, a one-time purchase, and a hard guarantee that our positions and P&L stayed on our own machine.

Two apps came out of that, both published by Bubbajuju LLC:

  • TradingEdge Journal — a native macOS app on the Mac App Store, with full trade logging, playbook entries, performance metrics, and optional AI analysis that runs locally on your own hardware.
  • TradingEdge Mobile — an iOS companion on the App Store, for logging and reviewing trades away from the desk.

Both are built around futures and active intraday trading, which is the discipline we know best. Traders in other markets use them too, and the metrics that matter — expectancy, R-multiple, win rate by setup — are the same wherever you trade.

Why Privacy Is the Whole Design

Your trading record is among the most sensitive financial data you own. It shows your account size, your risk tolerance, your edge, and your worst days. We decided at the start that the safest way to hold that data was not to hold it at all.

Nothing you enter in either app is uploaded, synced to our servers, or shared with a third party, because there is no server to upload it to. The AI analysis in the Mac app runs through Ollama on your own machine, so even the feature that reads your journal never sends it anywhere. We collect no analytics, no usage statistics, and no crash reports.

That's not a policy we could quietly change later — it's how the software is architected. The full detail is in our privacy policy.

What We Publish Here

The blog exists because most trading-journal content online is written to rank, not to be used. Articles are researched and written in-house, and we try to hold to a few rules:

  • Show the arithmetic. If an article claims a rule works, it should show the math or the worked example rather than asserting it.
  • Operating manuals over definitions. Plenty of pages will define a trailing drawdown. Far fewer tell you what to actually do on the day one is chasing your balance.
  • Recommend tools we'd use, including competitors'. We make a journal app, and we still write honestly about spreadsheets, Notion, and other software. A review that always concludes "buy ours" isn't a review.
  • Correct things publicly. When we get something wrong, we fix the page rather than quietly delete it.

Editorial Independence

This site is supported by app sales and by advertising. Advertisers have no input into what we publish, no review of articles before they run, and no influence over which tools we recommend. Where a page links to a product we may earn a commission from, that link is disclosed and marked as sponsored.

Not Investment Advice

Everything on this site is educational. We publish software and write about trading process, record-keeping, and risk management — we are not licensed financial advisors, and nothing here is a recommendation to buy or sell any instrument.

Futures and leveraged trading carry substantial risk of loss and are not suitable for every investor. Past performance never guarantees future results. Please make your own decisions, and consult a licensed professional where appropriate.

Get in Touch

We read everything that comes in, and a lot of what's shipped in the apps started as a user email. If you've found a bug, want a feature, or disagree with something we wrote, we'd rather hear it.
